The only 16 ga Brenneke slug loading data I can find is a single recipe in Ballistic Products, "How to Load The 16 Gauge For Hunting & Target, Revision 3". I can't seem to find another one in Lyman manuals and etc. Anyone else know where there's another recipe ? If it involves a Federal paper basewad hull, so much the better as they roll crimp really well in my ancient Ward roll-crimping tool. |

in a 1970-72 shooter bible, that gave Brenneke info.
Can't recall the load specifics but do recall that a plastic insert going on top
of the slug prior to roll crimping.
Have you contacted Brenneke seeif they can help?? |

I contacted Brenneke in Germany. They only had one recipe for Rottweil club cases, RWS 209S primers and Kemira N340 powder with a special plastic wad besides. It's a bit tricky getting that sort of stuff here in New Zealand. I recently asked Brenneke in the USA if they had any suggestions as we have Alliant, Winchester, Hodgdon and similar powders, for instance, (in fact, I've met Mr Hodgdon
I've got Shooter's Bibles up to 1966 but no loading data so I'll see if I can find the later edition you refer to. Thanks for that tip.
Dupont reloading guides of around 1983 seem to have plenty of 12 and 20 gauge Brenneke loading data, but no 16. |
