FYI, just saw a nice looking 16ga White Lightning Browning Citori, 26" on Auction Arms. It was only at $950 when I looked, so it might be a good deal for someone looking for one.

http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=7244419&aa=%20%20BROWNING%20CITORI%20WHITE%20LIGHTNING%2016GA%20OVER/UNDER%20SHOTGUN

Good luck...

Brad

Just looked at it current price is $1001--Why does Browning put that terrible hard plastic butt plate on a fine shotgun??????Even with a 28ga the problem is they slip in summer with sweaty clothes and everything.Dang for what they charge put a real recoil pad on-come on!!!!!!

I'm just the opposite. I think rubber recoil pads on a hunting gun are a pain. They have a tendency to grab my coat or vest on the mount and I end up with the stock low and the muzzles high. This does not happen with a smooth hard butt plate.

The sporting clays type pads with a smooth plastic insert on the heel are a bit better. However, recoil is never an issue for my if I'm hunting. The few used hunting huns I've bought that have pads all get covered with black plastic tape to keep them smooth and easy to mount.

Browning designed the Lightning first and foremost as a hunting gun. I think they have made the right choice here. 16GG

Why would anyone bother with that now? You can order a brand new one from Bill Hanus starting at $1685.....

The buyer has a three day look and right of refusal. This sets up a perfect shill buyer situation. The dealer will simply keep up the pretense that the buyer refused the gun upon inspection and relist it until they get a sucker to bite.

a new White Lightning will bring $1450 to $1500 new on average and about 10% less on sale. A clean used 16 ga White lightning would go for between $1000-$1150 around my area if it is truely clean. Perhaps it might bring an additional 5% or so in the Midwest.

This gun will probably close at over $1400 most likely. We will probably see this gun again unless they've hooked a live one.

The other scenario is that two guys are going head to head on an ego trip. If the price goes too high, the buyer will pass or refuse the deal. This is hardly an enforcable contract. The cost of forcing the issue legally is prohibitive and difficult at best.

I'll believe it when I see it. Something ain't quite right about this one. Wait and see what pops. We could very well see this gun again. FYI, the 20 ga. 525 this dude was selling out of the same supposed estate lot that closed earlier is back up for grabs. Gee, what a shock. And the same players including MOVIEMAN are in there bidding. What's with this bit of flipflop?

While this one was going, a clean 16 ga 26" long tang Lightning went for hundreds less. none of these players were involved. Go figure. Something is a bit ripe in Copenhagen methinks.

I don't know, but MOVIEMAN seems to make a lot of bids involving the same seller.....

My point exactly. They just call me "ole Dumbass". I cop to the plea 'cause it works for me. Things ain't always as they seem. Just watch and learn on this guy's auctions. Methinks he's got some buddies out there helping him make money the easy way.

We might have some fun later if it turns out to be true, like bidding up his stuff all to hell and then disappearing into the trees when it comes time to close the sale. If he's running a scam, I'd love to jerk him around. I'm funny that way. Laughing
