How do I identify that current manufactured WAA20 wads will work in the original style? Is there a diference between the old and nre style wads. There is a difference in new hulls as the base wad reduce the ID at the hull base.

| The new style wads will work fine in either hull. The newer wads raise the shot column a bit, and I assume for better load fit using 7/8 oz. and Win. super field powder. However, in changing the WAA20 wad, winchester created a near perfect wad for ¾ oz. loads, using bulkier powders. There may be minor differences in dimensions b/w comp. formed and HS hulls in 20g, but you use the same data. Not true for 28g and .410 HS hulls. |
