This is [sort of] a serious question. Based on Mike Campbell's whiz load idea, wouldn't a 3/8 oz. load approximate a .410 bore payload but at much higher velocity? For skeet, it seems like that would be a fun, yet effective handicap, shooting .410 loads in our 16's at hyper velocities for short range shooting. Better handling than a .410, and you wouldn't have to lead targets very much either. Is this a dumb concept? (fire away, I have my helmet on) |

You work on that for skeet.
In my spare time i am working on a 100 Straight from the 100 yard line with a .270 Winchester with 90gr HP bullets, shot with a K-80 Unsingle with a titanium rifled barrel insert.
Can't wait until we get to doubles. Count on a release/pull trigger set-up. Nah, on second thought maybe a double release.
What do you folks think? Should I use H414 or 4064 powder? I can get about 3,500+ FPS, of course going to a compressed 62.0 gr load of 4350, I can get 3,600+ FPS. Any help ? |

Ha ha. I guess I asked for that, even though I was being semi-serious. |

I don't think it's a dumb question at all, but them, I'm no expert!
I think the velocity is over the top, but I've watched guys shoot skeet using handguns with snake shot. They always had a blast, so I say go for it!
And keep us posted! |

Put forth the question to Woodcock .
Seems as though Ron took and loaded a box of Larrys ( IFL16 ) 16ga. 1/2 OZ 1800fps loads to Canada and shot them on Huns .
His report was very interesting to say the least .
Regards , Charles
P.S. I know larry is interested enough to use them on Chuckers this fall . |

Everybody has a story....and an opinion.
The performance of IFL16s 'ultra-fast' 1/2 ounce loads were not surprising to me as I have used them at the club. I'll not bore you with my actual observations and impressions but I do challenge you to roll a few for yourself and get some information rather that just speculate. |

I gotta side with dogchaser on this one...if it patterns well it would be a great load for bumblebees (wouldn't want to cripple the poor buggers)! |
