Looks like the 16 is gaining in popularity among gangbangers. Here in Reno NV we had a drive-by shooting at a local park where a 16 yr old male was shot with a "Sawed Off Shotgun". This wasn't surprising, what was is that the news film showed a close-up of the spent shell and it was 16ga purple. Even the bangers are becoming discriminating sportsman. Don't know if a SxS was used or not, maybe!

They have been reading this board and the want a hoo ride and a square load.

Translation: Hoo Ride , a group of gangstas in a stolen car lookin for some suckas to roll up on so they can catch the fools slippin.

Square load: the 1 ounce 16 gauge load

Is it obvious I have worked in South Central too long?

Many guns used by gangs are stolen and often bought for a few rocks of crack. Lets hope it was a 311 and not a 21. Since it was used in a shooting the owner will most likely never see his gun again.

I think the term Hoo ride would make Dr Suess blanch. Life in Hooville will never be the same.

Hummm. open season on Hoo riders. What gauge is a LAWS rocket? Wink

That is the new weapon of choice among The Latino Gangs, aka illegals.... All we have to do is ban the 16ga and the killing will stop..

Thanks Ray, I think the bore diameter will suffice. I've read some John "Pondoro" Taylor and am also a firm believer in using enough gun. This is most certainly not Mr Roger's Neighborhood. Can you say BOOM?!!!

If I'm not mistaken the inner diameter of the bore would be 2.60 inches.

Considering that the 12-gauge is .740", if backbored, that's 3-1/2 times as much bore as a 12 gauge. THAT IS A BIG GUN!

well, it WAS designed as an anti vehicle/tank weapon... also a pretty good bunker buster in its day, fairly light and more or less handy. a one shot, throw away fiberglass tube affair. They have some better stuff for that purpose these days, the boys in the sand box are very good with them i hear

I Know that Mattkcc was just kidding when he said the gangbangers should switch to 311's. Actually many of us cut our s/s teeth on a 311 or varient like the Fox b and bse. I still own the first two doubles I bought, both are Fox bse 20's and my first 16 ga. was a 311 which killed a lot of pheasant until I traded it for my current 16- a Parker Trojan. They were somewhat heavy and rather crude but they sure were reliable. Even Michael McIntosh used to hunt with a 311.
