I'm looking for a 1Oz. load using Cheddite hulls along with the SG16. I'm open as far as powder goes.
I also have the Z16 that I'm looking for load data on. |

Hootch. Did you try a 1 1/8oz load by any chance? I thought about trying this one in the cheddite hull.

No, I haven't. I am guessing the velocity would be about right considering adding an 1/8oz, but I might be inclined to add a grain or so of longshot to that bigger load. Not sure what pressure would bring. Roll crimped, mine were right at or just under 9k, so I wouldn't be too worried. I have some data I think in a spread sheet somewhere with that 1 1/8oz load. I wouldn't have put it in my spread sheet if it weren't doable.
Generally, if I need to go up to 1 1/8oz I start to gravitate to the 12ga.
But I have yet to try Federal's new high velocity 16ga shells. Might just use them. In the past used the Fiocchi golden pheasant, worked ok, but had a few 'non-fires" out of Citori with them. |

The load I have on my spread sheet is 26.7 grains of Longshot z-16 wad
Win 209 primer, 1350 fps and 10,800 psi.
I do not remember where I picked that up. It isn't one that I made up and had tested myself. It was published somewhere, but I don't think it was BPI's either, they go well over 26 grains. |
