I have been shooting the promotional black Remington's in 7 1/2 and 8's.
Have also picked up a flat of federal. These are all one ounce loads. These are not premium loads--but what could be found.

I agree the Remington game loads are hard to beat both performance and pricewise.Howscome the 20 and 12's are $3.19 a box while the 16's are $4.59 a box Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Question Question

Why do 16's cost more? Probably for the same reason 28's do. They don't make as many so they can't make them as cheap as 12's. At least thats what Wall-Mart told me.
Thats the only thing I dislike about shooting the 16 gauge. Shells are hard to find and they are almost always more money. I know shells can be ordered but the shipping is costly. I was shooting at a local club and was using high brass shells. The guy I was shooting with was understanding and said " I guess when you shoot a 16, you shoot what you can get". He's right. But on the other hand, it gives me something to look for when I travel around to sporting good stores. It's sort of my hobby.

scolari-
You must reload if you shoot the 16 gauge! Then you can make whatever type load you need at a fair cost. You will find your can shoot twice as much for the same money!
