I joined a friend today that was wanting to go to a few gun shops and was surprised to see a J P Sauer 16 gauge S x S that looked similar to a recent purchase. Upon a closer look it was a 16 gauge S x S, but over I believe an 8 x 57. It was pre-war where mine was made about 1958 and it sure looked the same except for the extra rifle. It was in very good shape, but the price of $3,600 is well above my means, plus I don't need it. It was good to see though. |

I've always been intrigued by drillings, and the price you gave actually would be quite reasonable if the piece was in good shape. Did you handle it and get a sense of its weight and swing? I'd also be interested to hear the length of barrels, which generally seem to be quite a bit shorter than comparable SxS guns.
I hear what you're saying about cost, but do any of us only buy guns we need? |

Very popular in Europe--instant selection of choke or rifle bbl--You are ready for rabbits or deer I have never seen a good JP go for under 4 grand. |
