Hi guys,
Been away for a while. Has anyone seen this before? Can you tell me anything about it? It is a Flues grade 1 1/2.

That bold floral engraving was introduced on the Ithaca Flues No. 1 1/2 in mid-1915.

After WW-I dried up the supply of composite iron and steel barrel tubes, Ithaca simplified their grades and this engraving became the No. 1 by the December 1919 catalogue. This style engraving continued into the NID years as the No. 1.

Thanks Researcher! I found a few more examples since I posted this, and figured out that it is factory engraving. Can you tell me about what a restored 16 gauge gun would be worth?

I LOVE the engraving on 1 1/2's. I wouldn't mind owning one someday. The engraving screams out Art Deco, which was very popular in the 20's.

I came close to getting one once, but the one I was considering had 3" drop at heel.

Art Deco. That's exactly it, thanks. The term has been escaping me. I was trying to figure out how to describe it, and that's it. I'm not sure I love it, but I like it. It's kind of cool. Anyway, It was on GB and it sold for more than I thought. Do you know what a good looking or restored version is worth, roughly?

I've seen 16's in good condition in the $1200-1500 range.
