It is no secret these are excellent hulls to reload.Having used up my old stuff,I opened a new flat of 1oz.#8's for some new hulls to refill.I was amazed at the lack of shot-some of the crimps were so deep as to allow shot to fall out Embarassed I had this EXACT problem with some STS 410's about a year ago Exclamation Is it just my bad luck or has anyone else noticed this with Remington shells of any gauge????They cycled my 1100 but were definitely short of shot---not trying to make excuses for my misses--There were a few---I blamed those on the puller of course Wink Wink Wink Wink Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes

hoa---I did notice more pronounced "dishing " in these #8 loaded shells when I bought a flat of the "new" ones---the ones with the picture of the dove on the box. Can't say it has noticeably lowered the quality---yet....

Chief maybe I am old enough to remember getting what I paid for. When I bought several flats of 16 ga 1oz shells that's what was suppossed to be in 'em!They functioned 100 percent ---but--- it throws me to look at a factory hull what is dished in like that.If my loads were the same the shot charge would be bumped up or better yet a filler would be added.I was recently given thousands of overshot card wads---Another thread but I have had excellent luck on the skeet field with 3/4 oz loads and homemade shot.

Remington black hull
19.3 Universal Clays
SP16
W209
3/4 oz home shot-good stuff-finally figured it out with some modifications.
Average velocity was 1204 fps. These are creme puffs and cycle my 1100.If you want more loads email me.I am headed to the barn---shot five rounds of skeet, had our monthly meeting and have to get up early tomorow---oh yeah you asked about the 3/4's the fillers are from one of my friends they toss these at work.Cardboard inserts are roughly 410 diameter and I use four of 'em per shell. They save me shot and really don't slow my loading down with a Grabber---I have extra if ya could use some.Let me know, might be late Wed. before I reply ---

I haven't bought any Game Loads recently but Remington ammo quality seems to be slipping. For years I preferred shooting Remington Subsonic 22s when I went to the local range. A couple of years back I started getting so many dud rounds that I gave up on Remington 22s altogether. I have always considered Remington shotshells the best of the "big 3" and am sorry to hear that poor quality has overtaken the shotshell production as well.
