Posting this for a non-computerized friend.
16ga Ithaca NID, 28in bbls choked F/M best I can tell. Stock is 14in LOP with drops of 1.5 and 3.0in. Bores are "good" and may clean better.
Stock has normal handling marks, checkering is a little worn but all visible.
No cracks or splits.
Hard black buttplate has a large chip out of top right and out of toe.
Bluing is about 90% and strong. The receiver is also blued....Is this origional? Pointer dogs engraved on both sides of receiver. Screws are good and overall the gun seems in fine mechanical shape.
Gun is tight and on face with lever well to the right of center. Ser. #4273xx
I should be able to do pics tonight if anyone is intrested.....Email me at
Roosterbob24@yahoo.com
He is asking 1100.00 and will give a 3 day inspection.
Thanks,
Bob |

Blued action is not original, that would explain 90% bluing on a 1927 gun . Is it an ejector gun? |

Fred, it is an extractor gun. I know zip about Ithaca sxs shotguns. Just knew it looks pretty good blue wise for a gun of it's age and that blue receiver did not ring true to my eyes.
Any idea as to honest value based on my description? Please understand I am not trying to make a buck here, just told him I would post it for him and he gave me his price.
Thanks,
Bob |

With the blued action, maybe $850? Just a guess, but to be honest I wouldn't pay that for it. |

Rooster, I bought one(a 12 bore) at an auction last summer in functionally good shape but a cosmetic mess, as a winter project. I paid 375 for it. Mine is in the early serial# range as yours is. After having it apart, I can tell you they are a very well made gun. I'd go $600 on the one you are selling, but that's just me, if you can get 1100 for it, I'm glad for you. Good Luck, Fred |
