Hey Fin and TJC-I've joined up Last year of production Utica Sterlingworth, all original finish with strong case colors and honest wear on stock and brls, 28" probably #3 brls (couldn't find the little faded number) as they weigh 3# 3oz and gun weighs 6# 8oz, light Mon (.14) and IM (.20).
How about we challenge those Sweet 16 and Citori fellas to a Kansas pheasant shoot?
Who else out there is in the club? (Can probably pick us out in the field because of that stupid grin despite sleet, mud, and run-off brain damaged setter-dog ) |

Drew, what you need alongside those Fox Sterlingworths is a nice Paker 16, with Damascus barrels. Then you'd give those Sweet 16 and Citori fellows a run for there money. |

I once had a guy at a gun show try to sell me a Whirlingstirth. I told him the best offer I could give him was umpteen dollars and eleventy-seven cents. |

Now I know there are more of you fellas out there. Fred Lauer and 662 both posted that they were looking. Ken Hurst has a 12 and Kirkman claimed 9-05 to have found one for $425 (I paid more than a $1000 more for mine)
Fin and TJC and I need more help when the A5 crew comes to whip our behinds on Ks pheasants! |

Not to worry, Rev; this old SW 16 holds its own against three Gold Hunter 12's whenever I'm in the CRP with my bros-in-law! We ain't afraida no A5's! |

Come on Guys, you saying no Parkers allowed on your pheasant hunt.
How about a 16 gauge L.C. Smith Hammer gun. I can't shoot very good anyways. |

rev,
I'm serious. Me, my Sterly and "The Girls", my 2 Drahthaars are ready to come west and give you a hand. Let me know when and where.
I'm going out to give my new 16 ga Sterly a try on Monday at a private club for pheasants. One last time for the season. Maybe 2. |

I have an old Ithaca that will give you all a run for your money, this old girl did a great job last year.
went down to sw. Kansas and had one of the best weekends in a long time.A good thing to the rest of the season there was some hard hunting.
I have a old Choc. Lab and she is good for a couple of fields and thats it,she looks like a woman shopping for shoes she just walks up and down and her tail starts to go up the closer she gets.
we both seem to move at the same speed now.just love to watch her she has the best time, and thats what it is all about |

525,
You're right about that. But I've never noticed my wife's tail going up when shopping for shoes. Not even as she gets closer to the pair she likes. |

TJC, your pretty funny, for a old guy. So someone has to have a old clunky A-5 or Sterlingworth to get a invite to the Ks thing?? BTW the 26th thing looks to be in stone, unless the weather comes in. Getting a cooler full of beef from the local place. Any preferance on cuts? (planning on you getting over for eats on the sat.

hunshatt,
I'm good for the Sat night. I'm also easy but don't get it around. Steak, burger, chops doesn't matter.
I'm also set for the 26th.
As far as the Kansas thing, maybe you and I can hook up and drive out to meet the others. Just have to find a place that will allow the dogs. Or we sneak them into the rooms somewhere. My brother and I drove to Norton, Kansas in 2 days. Stayed 1/2 way out at Davenport, Iowa, the Machine Shed restaurant and hotel there.
You'll just have to buy a Fox before we go.
What do you think there rev, we're coming out. |

Well I can probably use my grandfathers A grade 12, but I'd rather one of the 16's. As far as the trip. Mike has a 26' airstream we can drag along, as well as one of those quigley 4x4 diesel vans, if you didn't want to take the super duty. |
