Best to just ignore the P&P board over there unless you've got a strong constitution (no pun intended) or are a glutton for punishment. If most of the guys who frequent it knew even a fraction of what they think they do...well, you know the rest Rolling Eyes . Not much "discussion";mostly just two choirs preaching to their own.

As I posted earlier in the thread, gunshop.com seems OK and pretty helpful, and I kinda like uplandjournal; pretty friendly bunch there.

One thing I think I've noticed, and I wonder if anyone else feels the same: most boards seem pretty "cliquey"; if you're not one of the "in" posters a lot of members seem to pretty much ignore you. I've posted questions and gotten maybe 2-3 responses, when the regulars will get two pages. Also, I've PM'd a few folks and never even gotten a response. Anybody else?

Fin

Amen brother Fin, Amen. I work in politics and government stuff and after a few tries, I just quit trying to set the record straight. Neither side wants to hear anything that distracts from their choir preaching. *rolling eyes*

Like you, I have found most of the other boards to be interesting at times but a bit cliquey, or just a flame war, without alot of civility.

I do like shooting sportsman and gunshop.com at times and I post pretty regularly on SGW, but mostly trying to pass advice along to newbies looking for gun help. Some good folks on SGW though, but not nearly the same interest in 16's or classic guns. Alot of "boy I love my 870 and thats the only gawddamn gun you will ever need, so just get that as your only shotgun...", which is fine, but limiting after a while. I get a bit intimidated posting at gunshop.com sometimes...

This place seems to have a good mix of knowledge, nice fellows, gentlemen sportsmen, and 16 gauge iconoclasts... makes for a really interesting diversity of opinions and perspectives. Kinda like good Kentucky Burgoo.

Cheers,

Brad

There's another unpleasant skunk squirting match going on over on SS BB on the 'Weakening' thread. I only post this to thank 16ga for monitoring the Forum and all the contributors for their positive, helpful, and good spirited postings. Let's keep the negative/personal stuff off the Forum and limited to PMs if you feel something has to be addressed.

(Reports of 16GG X-dressing are apparently erroneous BUT hunshatt and Brad6260 are STILL...uh...what would the plural of putz be?...putzi?....a bunch of guys holding Merkels? Laughing)

Rev,
A Yiddish linguist you're not. Smile
Try the epithet petzelah. (Diminutive form of putz)

I continue to lurk on some the other boards as there is some interesting/valuable stuff occasionally (more so gunshop.com) Still an awful lot of 'my putz is bigger' stuff. It just seems over here that ANYBODY can expect some honest helpful practical suggestions/answers without the one-up-man-ship. (Remember-16g. told us not to respond to anything Fin posts though Wink)
Another interesting board (unfortunately still with a little of the 'my-Bible's-bigger' mindset) is www.shotgunworld.com Christians on Shotgunworld. You have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the Forum Index (does that mean something? Rolling Eyes)
