He disected a shell and is trying to find Win 16ga wads anywhere. The problem is finding 16ga Winchester wads. He is using the Super X game hull |

The newer Winchester Super-X hull is actually a Cheddite hull. The box will say "Made in Australia". Winchester does not make a 16ga. wad anymore and I don't know if the old "WAA16" would work in this hull anyways. Best to join the reloading group for great data on this hull and many others.

This is very true! The "Made in Australia" French hulled WinchesterSuper-X's I had recently had the 16ga x 21mm Gualandi wad loaded in them which are made in Italy!

John:
As Slide and CF16 point out, if your friend is shooting modern Win Super X loads from Australia, then the hull and primer are cheddites and the wad is the Gualandi 1621 (otherwise known as the SG-16 from BPI). Russ |
