Xpert,
Glad to hear from ya. I hid in shadows here for at least 6 months or more before I started interacting. I think we all know change is coming sooner or later. Would not be surprised to hear a few guys have taken over maintenance and purchased the site at some point. A year ago I'd been willing to be an investor in that adventure (not sure with my move current finances allow it). I will be happy to play any part I can in our future though. Doesn't Charlie16ga with a big fat moderator tag by his name sound perfect? |

Hi All,
I maintain the forum out of respect for the founder, Doug, and have been involved for almost 13 years since its inception. I'm happy to entertain any grievances, you can post here or PM me. At present I pay for the hosting and maintenance of the site out of pocket, and there is currently zero revenue from the site. I have made every attempt to keep things moving just as Doug would have wanted, and while I might not be participating in many discussions, I am always keeping an eye on things.
For new membership sign-ups I do a batch every few weeks - I review each sign-up in an effort to prevent spammers from gaining entry, and this can sometimes take time as everyone doesn't provide bio info.
I've thought about adding a sponsor to help offset the costs, or open up a donation channel. One of the things Doug and I discussed at length back in June of 2004 when we set this up was whether we could keep it from being overridden with ads - so I don't take this issue lightly.
Again, please post here or PM me if you have specific issues you'd like to discuss.
Thanks. |

s_long,
I would still very much like to join the 16 Gauge Society. When you can make that happen for me, please drop me some e-mail at Pine-Creek@live.com
Would very much like a Pin also.

We don't need any moderators, you are trying to fix something that isn't broken.

Agree, Dale. We are all moderators of our own behavior. |
