I was eyeballing a few 16 ga. guns other than the recent Ithaca N.I.D. purchase. Then this happened! The old fat tire bike broke in two. Oops. I had to go buy a new one. It looks like I may be selling a couple 12 gauges and a .410 to resolve this issue!

Hopefully, the upside to the situation was that the break in the bike didn't cause any breaks in the rider. |

Hit by a truck? Looks like you're hard on equipment. Anybody know a good bikesmith? |

Wyo
I discovered my mtn bike in similar state one day arriving home after work. I took it to a one man shop that specialized in Harley choppers. He took sympathy on me and welded it back together with some kind of special rod and ground it to shape while we had a friendly leisurely conversation. The kind gentleman didn't seem to want anything for it but I gave him a twenty anyway. The shop is now gone but bike is still together. Was never able to extract a confession from any of the prime suspects, I.e., young offspring.
Good luck
B. |

I’d be glad to take a few 16’s off your hands to help finance your new purchase. After all, what are friends for. 😏 |

No harm to rider. It broke while I was bending it back straight...again. I actually am my own bike-smith, but not sure if I want to trust thin wall aluminum that had been overstressed that many times. If it was 4130 Chromoly I would weld it back up.
It turned out to be sort of a good thing. I customized the new bike and like it a lot better. Rusty looks better next to this one anyway.
Hayseed, good luck on that one! You'd have better luck getting my 2wt fly rod away from me and I used it on the trout stream below Mom's after today's bike ride.

Good one Ted! I should add that the two were not occurring simultaneously. |

The brand name of the failed bike made me think of the song lyric "I fought the law & the law won!" How many cases of shot-shells were you haulin' anyway? |

Throw the bike in the trash! Buy more guns. Shoot more. Hunt more. You bike guys all look funny is your helmets anyway. |

I do have a gun rack for it. I just use that for the fly rod tube though. The weight of a gun on the handlebars does horrible things to handling. Think of it like hanging a water jug from the end of your barrel then shooting a round of skeet! If I use the bike for hunting, the gun goes across my back on a sling.
studdog, don't make fun of my helmet, it's hand crafted; laminated with hair gel and 20 pairs of old underwear. |
