I got a nice tom today with my Blaser ES67. 20lbs 11oz, 9.5" beard, 1 1/4" spurs.
Took a poke at a coyote this morning too with 5.6x50R barrel, but didn't seal the deal. on him. |

Good for you. Our place is full of turkeys, and the hunters have so far failed to harvest a bird. |

Nice job! All those colors and he couldn't quite match the shell. |

What load weight?
Are the super heavy weight loads as marketed by the ammo companies really necessary to pattern a turkey's neck/head? |

Thanks guys. I used a reload from a buddy. It was 1 1/4oz load of #5s. Blue dot powder and I’m told it was around 1250fps. |

Thanks back at you - It's nice to have my faith reaffirmed that wild turkeys are not armor plated and do not require a 12 ga 3.5" shell with 2 ounces of shot at supersonic speeds. |

That's a quite a gun. Always nice to get a quality bird, too. Hope your birds survived in numbers in spite of the late snow and ice. Gil |

The numbers seem fine Gil. I worried more about the woodcock who arrived early. |
