Since the barrels are stamped JP Sauer and Sons, not Sohn, and since the barrels are an even 28", I assume this was made for the American market.

Bore measurements, as given, have the barrels still in proof. |

I received this from Bob Beach...
"Sauer, number 142635 was consigned for sale at Abercrombie & Fitch by Doctor William J. Vogeler, a physician who specialized in diseases of the lungs (tuberculosis). He was born in Baltimore, MD in 1878 and served in the US Army Medical Corps during WWI. He lived in Yonkers, Westchester County, NY. He died in 1965. The shotgun was sold to C.F. Agnew but he is untraceable.
The spec's indicate: 16 ga, 28 in., 2 and 9/16 in chambers, 7#, 2oz., NE, Mod & Mod, 2 7/8 x 1 11/16 x 14 1/8, half PG and included a trunk case. Retail price was $60." |
