Gentlemen,
If you are like me and own Graded Classic American double guns, and are wishing for a nice leather Classic Gun case to show off your good gun and to safely store it also. You might consider the following classic era leather gun case by Thomas Ferney. These 1821 style leather gun cases are seriously nice. I ordered one myself this past week, my wifes Christmas present to me.
The gun cases are on sale right now for reasonable money. To see the sales layout punch up Thomas Ferney & Company on the web. $199.00 for a Classic double gun case that will fit both SXS or O/U guns with 30" and less barrels. Serious classic era guns cases for reasonable money.
Merry Christmas - all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

Can't keep the forend on the barrels, nor put it in its own compartment. Bummer. The forend in the picture looks vulnerable. |

The photo on their website says otherwise: https://www.thomasferney.com/productlines
The forend off the barrels in the above photos has more to do with PC/D's installation than the actual case configuration, I think |

That beaver tail isn’t going to go on the barrels in that case. There isn’t room for it.
Best,
Ted |

I have one and it's a great case. I swapped out the leather compartment lid for a custom painted one.

Gentlemen,
I have not tried to put the Beavertail ford-end on the barrels in the TF gun case, I will give it a try and see what happens, there maybe enough lid room to make it happen, however the BT on this #5 Smith gun is large and special made for the early #5 gun.
The felt covers did come with the case I just did not picture them. They are very nice also. Having other cases I do like this one the best. Very classy set up this TF case, for sure. The luggage straps that come with the vintage era case are way cool also. The dust cover for the case is real nice also.
I would like to purchase the TF case that would hold a two barrel set double gun, unfortunately TF does not have one - Yet. I need this case for my special order 2 barrels set L.C. Smith 00, with the #1 gun engraving.

Ted S,
Just tried the Beavertail on the barrels, fits in the case like the case was made to due exactly that, lid closes perfectly and everything is stable inside in that manner.
Thanks for reminding me to due it.

It's a classy case for sure, I already have two others similar to it and decided I don't really need a 3rd. I did however order one of their soft cases, although I have about a dozen of those, including some very nice ones, this TF one is top notch and at a great price, so why not... |

I have two of these cases, one canvas, and one leather.
They are great cases for the money, and all my barrels O/U and SxS will fit in the case with the fore end on.
These cases will hold up to 32" barrels. |

I stand corrected. That is a big beaver tail, though.
Best,

Ted S,
I sure do not blame you for thinking it would not fit on the barrels in the case, I thought the same thing, and left it off until you said something about it. Thanks again for the reminder, and you are correct it is a large BT from an era where the gun was used for Pigeon shoots on a weekly basis.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

nj gap,
I like the looks of the soft slip cases also and am planning on getting one in Feb or before for my birthday present. The TF soft cases for hunting are definitely high quality cases also, just right for keeping my SxS double guns in while out in the field.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

Ted, I read on the double gun forum that Stan is trying to find a case for his double gun. I am not a member so you might let Stan know about these cases. Larry |
