I just added a beautiful 1919 Parker Trojan to my meager collection of 16's.
I'm not sure what the chamber length is.
Does anyone know? |

If the chambers haven't been lengthened sometime in the past they should be 2 5/8th or 2 9/16th inches. If your gun is on face and otherwise in good shape it is safe to shoot low pressure (sub 9000 psi) loads in 2 1/2 or 2 3/4 inch shell lengths. The problen you will find is that most current factory loads pressures exceed the 9000 psi chamber pressure. Best low pressure loads come from RST and ARMUSA and you won't find them in the local Marts. |

The trogan should handle low brass fine. I had one in made in 1927 and used it many years to hunt turkey with hi-brass 11/8oz. 6 shot. But the value went up to $900 and I sold it a few years back . It was tight 30" M-F About 60% finish with very good wood and 25% case. A grand old heavy double. If you want low pressure loads try the Parker page web. |
